Kallen gave his first talk in Primary today, and Tyson and I were so proud of him. He was super cute and did such a good job. He wasn't scared at all and even memorized it. Everyone thought he was one of the cutest little kids up there because he knew his talk so well and smiled throughout the whole thing.
His talk was on how Heavenly Father talks to us through our Prophets. Here he is holding up a picture of President Monson, which he used in his talk.
For the Grandparents, here is his talk written out. I did it a little differently, where I would say a question or phrase before Kallen and then he would respond to it. So its kind of like a little dialogue between the two of us...I consider it more like team teaching. :) He got to hold up pictures that went along with his talk, which he loved. Well, here it is:
Mom: Heavenly Father loves us very much and wants to help us throughout our lives. How does Heavenly Father talk to us?
Kallen: He talks to us through the scriptures (picture), the Holy Ghost (picture) and through our Prophet (picture).
Mom: We didn't always have a prophet here in the Latter days, who was our first prophet?
Kallen: Joseph Smith (picture)
Mom: When Joseph wanted to know what he should do, what did he do?
Kallen: Joseph prayed and Heavenly Father and Jesus came down and talked to him. (picture)
Mom: Right, what did they tell him?
Kallen: They told him to restore the gospel and about the Golden Plates.
Mom: Now that we have Prophets on the earth again, who is our Propeht today?
Kallen: President Monson (picture)
Mom: If President Monson knew what our Heavenly Father wanted us to do, should we listen to him?
Kallen: Yes we should.
Mom: When can we listen to President Monson?
Kallen: Through the Friend magazine and at Conference. (Friend Magazine)
Mom: Knowing that Heavenly Father can talk to us, how does that make you feel?
Kallen: I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus love me. (picture) In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
