Christmas Party

Kallen had a really cute Christmas party at school this year. Their teacher taught them a whole nativity play, where they learned each part and then took turns playing the different roles at the local retirement communities. It was really cute seeing Kallen as the Inn Keeper and a Sheppard.

Here are some of the boys waiting for their turns to come up during the play.

One of Kallen's favorite things about being a sheppard was getting to hold his own sheep. He loved that little guy.
Here is the whole class together.

Besides the play, the kids also sang some songs and recited some Christmas poems. Then they handed out Christmas pictures they had all colored to all the "grandmas and grandpas".

Kallen had a great time that day and so did Weston. As a parent, it really was a ton of fun to see my little boy growing up and acting in his first nativity play. I was so proud of him.

Preschool Halloween Party

Kallen had a lot of fun at his Preschool Halloween party this year. All the kids were super cute dressed up. Kallen wanted to be Buzz Lightyear and Weston was a Dinosaur.

The kids sang us some cute songs, had a Costume Parade and were all around super cute. It was really fun to see my little boy growing up and enjoying preschool.

Halloween Fun

You know, one thing that has been a little sad for me about living here in Moses Lake is their lack of pumpkin patches and Christmas tree farms. You would think that living in a farming community, that they'd have a place to go...at least I thought there would be. But there isn't anything. However, I was excited to discover that this year, the city had a small Halloween fair at one of the local parks for kids. It was small, but cute, and the boys enjoyed themselves.

Kallen and Weston each got to choose their own pumpkin. Weston, like Kallen, loves the color green. So of course he chose a green pumpkin. I'm still surprised the little guy could pick it up, but the kid seriously amazes us all the time with his super human strength.

There were all sorts of booths to stop at and do crafts and things, and even a tractor ride, but Kallen's favorite activity was the hay patch where you got to search for candy. He also enjoyed seeing a few of the small animals that were present.

I'm so glad that Moses Lake had this little Halloween carnival. It's the small things that make the holidays so much fun. Hopefully they will do it again next year.

Kallen Starts Preschool

Kallen actually started preschool way back in September, but I still wanted to post pictures of his first day for myself. They are not great pictures, but I took them super fast as we were on our way out the door.

Kallen was pretty excited, but a little nervous to start school. He was excited to go because Tyson told him that when he was a little boy he went to school too. Since Kallen loves being like Daddy, that helped him want to go, but it was still a little scary for him. It took him about a week to get in the groove, but now he loves it. His teacher is wonderful and Kallen has learned so much! We are so proud of him.

I let him choose his own backpack for school, and he chose this cute bumble bee bag. It is a bit cheesy, but I thought it was pretty cute, so I got it.

Little Hooligans

If you are like me, you can usually tell when your kids are up to no good. If not, you might be wondering how I can tell. Well, normally, my boys are loud, running around and giggling when they are playing. There is also the occasional screaming and yelling when they fight over toys...okay, it isn't that occasional, it happens a lot. However, even when my boys argue, they are loud and making noise. On the other hand, when they are doing things together that they shouldn't be, sneaky things, everything suddenly gets very quiet around here. The silence is what tips me off that they are up to something.

The other day, they were playing upstairs normally, so I wasn't worried about them. I heard them playing with their legos, with their trains and other toys. After a little while though, they got very quiet. I told myself that I should check on them, but I didn't think there was anything up there that they could get into. Boy was I wrong. Soon I heard them decending the stairs and this is what they looked like.

Here is a close-up.

They had gotten into my food storage and pulled out a big bag of flour. It was everywhere. I couldn't help but laugh at them. They were so cute covered in flour. It took me over an hour to clean up the mess, but hey, it was worth it for the memory. What little hooligans.

PS: Did I mention that we are going to have another little hooligan on our hands very soon? Yep, another boy is on the way. Can you imagine the trouble all three of them will get into? :)

Kallen Turns 4!

I still can't believe that Kallen is 4! He is getting so big, which is kind of sad for me, because I wonder where my little baby boy went. But it is also lots of fun to see him grow and I love how he makes me laugh all the time because of the things he says.

We had a small family birthday party, which I think Kallen loved. Grandma and Grandpa Hill came over and we spent the day at the water park and playing with all of his new toys. He wanted a "green" birthday, so he had green balloons and streamers. He also wanted a chocolate cake, which I tried so hard to make pretty, but it just didn't turn out. I'm just not a baker, what can I say. At least it tasted good.

Kallen's favorite gift by far was his train car wash, but he loved all his gifts. He is still obsessed with car washes, so it didn't surprise me that he really liked that gift. Weston's favorite was the car mat. I don't know why he likes it, because he doesn't use cars on it, but he loves walking all over it.

Brothers

I keep forgetting that I haven't posted anything in months, so I figured it was about time to put something new on the blog. Here are just some cute pictures of the boys together these past few months.

These boys love bugging and annoying each other, but they also love to play and laugh together. They make me smile everyday, and I am so happy they are part of our family.
