What's Better than 1 Fish....Millions of Fish!

My sister is in town! I've been looking forward to her visit for months and months...and now she is here with my nieces, Emberly and Sharlie and my nephew Rylan. Hurray! I'm so happy and so is Kallen. He has been having so much fun hanging out with his cousins. And the good news is that they will be here for almost a whole month! Double hurray!

We decided to go on our first field trip today to the Seattle Aquarium and we all had lots of fun. Originally we were planning on going to the zoo, but Mother Nature had other plans. She decided that Seattle finally needed a good rain, so that is what it has been doing all day...raining.

I was surprised that Kallen enjoyed the aquarium as much as he did. I wasn't sure if he would like it, but he just kept looking big-eyed at everything. He loved it.

Here is a great picture to show the versatility of our stroller for all sorts of weather. I'm glad we had this cover or little Kallen would have gotten very wet and I don't think he would have liked that.

Here are some pictures of the first exhibit that we saw. The aquarium just did a huge addition where they created a giant walled tank of all the native sea life in the Puget Sound. Here are a few pictures of the kids in front of it. Sorry they are so dark, it was really hard to get good lighting and I didn't get a lot of time to take pictures...it was so crowded.

These next pictures were taken of the jelly fish. They have them floating along a circular tank with fluorescent lighting, which changes color. It was amazingly crowded, so I didn't get the pictures like I wanted, but a few turned out okay. I'm glad that this picture of Kallen turned out. It is my favorite of the trip.

Here are some fun pictures of the kids playing around with some toys and on some of the sculptures there.

Here are a few more pictures for you to enjoy.

Finally, here is a short video of Kallen watching the Seals. I kept trying to get his attention for the video, but he kept watching the seals instead of the camera...he was mesmerized.

What Kallen did today

I keep wanting to post for some reason, so here are some more pictures of Kallen's day today.

Well, Kallen started off by playing with his dinosaur, which by the way, is one of his favorite toys. When you put the balls in the holes it plays music and lights up. He hasn't figured out how to put the balls into the holes himself yet, but he always thinks its super fun to have Mommy or Daddy do it for him. Also, he really likes whacking the dinosaurs head with his hands for some reason. Hmmm, good thing it's pretty sturdy and won't break.

Kallen also had his daily exercises, which consisted of tummy time and practicing crawling. Here he is trying to crawl to me. He hasn't got moving forward down yet, but he can move backwards a little now.

He also likes to walk around the coffee table with Mommy, but I can't take a picture of that while I'm helping him. Instead, I took some pictures of Kallen standing and holding himself up on the coffee table.

Then when Daddy got home, Kallen played video games with him.

After all of his hard work and play, he got pooped out. What a tired baby. Oh and in case you noticed, yes Kallen stayed in his Pj's the entire day. :)

Feet!

I don't know why, but I love taking pictures of Kallen playing with his feet. I'm always so amazed at how flexible he is. He also likes to stick his feet in his mouth, but I have never been able to capture a picture of it. Maybe someday. Wow...Mom and Dad sure can't do that.

The Pendulum of Punishment

This really isn't as scary as the title sounds. Tyson likes to hang Kallen upside down from time to time and call it the Pendulum of Punishment. It really isn't a punishment at all...Kallen loves it. Although these pictures are not great, they show what Kallen looks like.

The Rolling World

During the past month we've been really trying to get Kallen to roll over from his back to his tummy. In the past he just hasn't ever wanted to try. He looks at a toy and you can just imagine him thinking, "why do I need to roll and get that? I can live without it." He hates being on his tummy, so every time we've tried to teach him to roll it hasn't been very successful. Lately he likes to tease us and roll 90% of the way and then give up. During the past few weeks, he's rolled over a few times, but then never tries it again. Then suddenly this morning, I was practicing with him and suddenly a light went off and it seems like Kallen has decided that rolling isn't such a bad thing after all. In the past the only things that would ever tempt him to roll would be my cell phone or keys. Amazingly today, he didn't need either! He just kept rolling back and forth for the fun of it. I quickly called Tyson to let him know our son had joined the rolling world and he requested a video. So here it is.

4th of July Fireworks

We wanted to get just a few small fireworks for Kallen's first 4th of July. We ended up having to do them before it got dark because of Kallen's bedtime, but it was still fun. Even though some of them made some very loud noises, little Kallen didn't get scared once. He was so tough.

Later that night, we woke Kallen up and walked around our neighborhood to see some of the fireworks. Tons of people were letting them off and some were pretty amazing fireworks (sorry no pictures, our camera's battery died). It was fun to see Kallen's face as he looked up into the sky and watched them. He would follow every single one.

1st Pool Party

Kallen had his first pool party this 4th of July. Of course the pool was only about 5 feet in diameter and only Tyson, my parents and I attended, but hey, it was a pool party nevertheless. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy.

Chicken Baby

June 30th: Here's a happy video. Sometimes Kallen gets pretty slap happy when he gets tired. Here's proof of that in this video. He thinks his Daddy is super funny whenever he says, "Chicken".
